Randy Jones

Randy Jones, President and CEO

Randy Jones has more than 30 years of experience in a number of high technology markets.  As President and CEO of Magma, Jones handles general management, strategy, and business and corporate development to position the company for leadership in the industry.  Randy's goals for the company are to build and sustain Magma as a high technology leader and trusted resource for its customers, while fostering a positive and motivating work environment for his team.

Prior to taking the helm at Magma in 2007, Jones was senior vice president and general manager for the Connectivity Group at Mobility Electronics, where he was instrumental in the successful acquisitions of ThinkOuside (keyboard group), and operational management of the handheld hardware group and the expansion and docking group.

Previously Jones held significant positions including the role of Vice President of Services at Ingram Micro, where he strategically built and led a new services organization with revenues in excess of $100 million.

Randy Jones holds two Master’s Degrees: the first in Finance and Marketing from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and the second in Engineering Sciences (Bioengineering) from the Jacobs School of Engineering at UCSD.  He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Economics from the United States Military Academy. Jones is a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army/Reserves, having last served at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.


Tim Miller

Tim Miller, Chief Operating Officer

Tim Miller brings over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, driving all aspects of operations, management, marketing, business development, and sales. Miller previously worked at Dolphin Interconnect Solutions through its acquisition of StarGen, Inc. in 2007, initially serving as President of Dolphin ICS North America. He took over as CEO at Dolphin in July of 2007. Prior to joining Dolphin, he was CEO of StarGen since 2004 and co-founded the company in 1999, initially serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He held numerous management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation during the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University, a Masters of Business Administration from Wharton, and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He started his career as a Civil Engineer Corp Officer in the US Navy.


Doug Antone

Bill Shem , Vice President of Sales

Bill Shem has over 30 years experience in executive and sales positions within the technology industry. In addition to his position as Vice President of national and international sales, he also manages the customer service and technical support group at Magma. Prior to Magma, Shem was Senior Director of Sales at Ingram Micro, Intelligent Electronic and Connecting Point of America, where he was responsible for strategic accounts and managed the internal and external sales teams. Shem has also owned two Entre Computer Centers in Denver and Colorado Springs and has served as a Congressional Aide in Washington D.C. Shem graduated from the University of Redlands in California.


Tom Vadnais

Julia Elbert , Vice President of Engineering

Julia Elbert has over 10 years of experience in engineering, specializing in Linux, PCI Express, and device drivers for communication hardware. Elbert is responsible for managing and leading the team of engineers at Magma to develop high speed electronic products focused around PCI Express. She also works in business development to build partnerships with vendors and customers to support Magma's product line and to increase sales. Elbert graduated from the University of California, San Diego.
